Nancy Graziano earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY. However, when the economy took a downward turn in the late 1980s, she chose to pursue a career in Technical Writing which ended up being a natural fit since it blended her technical background with a natural writing ability. Throughout the next 25 years, Nancy has worked for numerous companies, both large and small, including Xerox Corporation, Bellcore, and Lucent Technologies.
Having grown up during the Space Race of the 1960s, Nancy’s first love has always been astronomy and space exploration. In addition to social media management and moderation for various Astronomy and STEM-based organizations, as an Executive Producer for the Weekly Space Hangout YouTube Channel, Nancy has scheduled more than thirty special guests from throughout the greater Astronomy/Space community, including Dr. Alan Stern and Alice Bowman from NASA’s New Horizons Mission, Dr. Seth Shostak from the SETI Institute, planetary scientist Dr. Carolyn Porco, and NASA’s Director of Planetary Sciences Division, Dr. James Green.
Describing herself as the ultimate “Geek,” Nancy has always been eager to fully embrace emerging technologies – including Social Media. She appreciates the impact Social Media can have – when properly utilized – to affect meaningful change both at home and around the world.
Nancy currently resides in New Jersey with her husband and two rescue dogs, Missy and Caleb, although they hope to retire to the Finger Lakes Region of Western New York State. She has been a fan of the New York Mets for over 46 seasons, and her greatest memory (aside from getting her picture taken with Mike Piazza during Spring Training) is that of being in Shea Stadium for Game 7 of the ’86 World Series when her beloved Mets won it all. She is also a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan, having grown up in Duluth, MN.
